IS THIS THE RIGHT NEXT STEP?

When to consider
electrical panel upgrades.

  • Your panel has limited space for new circuits.
  • You are adding major electric loads or remodeling.
  • An evaluation has identified damaged equipment or capacity concerns.

DEFINE THE WORK

What the project
can involve.

We review the existing service, panel location, planned loads, and accessible equipment. A load calculation helps establish whether a panel replacement, service upgrade, load-management approach, or a more focused change fits the project. A higher amp rating is not automatically the right answer.

Discuss your scope for a home in our North County service area.

FROM ASSESSMENT TO INSTALLATION

A plan before
the work begins.

After an assessment, the proposal identifies equipment, circuit work, grounding and bonding considerations, and any related repairs included in the scope. Permits, utility coordination, service interruptions, and inspection requirements depend on the property and the proposed changes. We discuss those dependencies before scheduling.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR ESTIMATE

What affects
the cost?

Service size, equipment condition, panel location, utility requirements, circuit adjustments, access, and any wall or trench work affect cost. An estimate should explain the work being priced and identify items that require further investigation.

We do not publish a one-size-fits-all price for work that depends on your home. Call to discuss an estimate.

Electrical Panel Upgrades

Your questions,
answered.

Do I need a 200-amp panel?

Not every home does. Existing demand, future loads, service conditions, and a project-specific load calculation help determine appropriate capacity.

Will a panel upgrade require a utility visit?

It may. Service changes can require utility review, disconnection and reconnection, permits, and inspection. The sequence must be confirmed for the specific property.

Can I add an EV charger without replacing my panel?

Sometimes. Available capacity, charger settings, a dedicated circuit, and suitable load management may provide options. An assessment comes first.
